Service Opportunities

PC10 - July 10-17

Members of AFBC will travel to Perry County, Alabama, this summer to minister in one of the poorest counties in the United States. Our ministry in Perry County has been described by a missionary there as the “Arden Effect” as it is our desire to extend the kingdom of God in the power of the Spirit through the love of Christ. The trip is open to ages 6th grade through 102. For those who cannot travel to Perry County, numerous opportunities exsist to become involved in this church-wide mission. We are currently collecting clothes, books, box fans and school supplies. Additionally, there are several fundraisers throughout the year. And, don’t forget - Meals for Missions - the first Thursday of every month at Casa Torres.

Homework Help ~ Wednesdays @ 3:45pm

Each Wednesday, we offer free tutoring and homework assistance to children from the Wellington community. In addition to homework help, we provide children with a snack and free time before they join the church for our weekly BiG Wednesday activities. There are numerous ways to be involved with this ministry.  From transportation, to tutoring, to helping children at dinner, there is a place for you.

Community Food Pantry

Each month members of AFBC deliver boxes of food to families in our community. The pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items donated by church members. This ministry is in partnership with ABCCM. Items for the pantry can be placed in grocery carts found in the breezeway and atrium.
